I'm Claire McEwen and I'm happy to be a part of this great blog celebrating western romance! I love horses, cowboys and all things western. I grew up riding horses, teaching riding lessons and leading trail rides, and I spent time in my twenties working on farms. Those experiences and my love of wide-open spaces help inspire my stories.
I write complex, emotional contemporary westerns, with some fairly modern themes. My heroes and heroines have wrestled with issues like PTSD and troubled childhoods, and faced complicated problems like how to get their ranches through drought, how to save wild mustangs from slaughter and even how to restart life after prison. As you can probably tell already, I love to make my characters overcome big obstacles on their road to happily ever after! But through all of their challenges there is humor and romance and the redeeming power of love.
I'm currently working on an anthology of small-town novellas with some of my fellow Superromance authors. The anthology will be called Falling for You, and it releases October 17, 2017.
And if you're interested in learning more about my books, here are links to my Goodreads Page and my Amazon Page.
And about me personally? I'm a former public school teacher and administrator, who fell in love with writing while seeking a break from my stressful career. When I finally found my own happily-ever-after and decided to stay home with our son, I had time to finish my book, which was discovered by Harlequin Superromance through their now-defunct So You Think You Can Write contest. I live on the Northern California coast with my beloved husband and son, and a scruffy terrier/floor-mop. I enjoy gardening, travel, reading, playing on the beach and hiking the hills and redwood forests that surround my town.
I hope you enjoy my posts on Cowboy Kisses. I look forward to sharing my love of western romance with you!
