Sable Hunter

Hello, Sable Hunter here! What a privilege it is to be in the company of the great authors and faithful readers of Cowboy Kisses. I'm excited to share with you the stories of my heart inspired by my heritage, the places I’ve lived, and the people I’ve known. Some may ask ‘where have all the cowboys gone?’ Tis true, that way of life is scarcer than in the past – but they’re still out there. Men – and women – who live by a code of honor. They might not work on a ranch or own a thousand head of cattle, but they love the land, they put others first, and they seem to always have an eye on the horizon in search of a promise for tomorrow.
I grew up in Texas. I’ve spent most of life in the Lone Star state, with frequent forays into Louisiana bayou country. We raised cattle, rode horses, and spent most of our days outdoors. Cowboy attire was everyday attire. To me, a man without boots, jeans, and a cowboy hat looks odd. Even our preacher wore western suits and boots in the pulpit. Little did I know when I was riding my quarter horse, Comanche through the brush looking for a lost steer and day-dreaming about the cute boy who lived across the creek, that I would one day make a living by reminiscing about people and places I’ve known -weaving the past into the fabric of fantasy. As you read my work, know that you’re getting a glimpse into my world. Seeing my memories, feeling my insecurities – privy to my dreams and longings.I look forward to becoming acquainted with everyone as I invite you into my slightly warped mind. You’ll learn more about me as we go along – but for now, I’ll share that I come from a family who has always considered the supernatural to be super normal. Cooking and reading are relaxing for me. I also play piano, sing, and I adore traveling to research my books. As you read my stories, keep a tall glass of cold, sweet tea and a hand fan close by to keep you cool. Unlike others, my tales will warm you up. My characters have a habit of leaving the bedroom door ajar. I prefer to offer the reader a chance to celebrate passion and relive tender moments, or experience vicariously wonders they might’ve missed in this life. I know I do – I live in my books more than anyone knows.Writing is a huge part of my life and a wonderful way to make a living. Creating worlds and populating them with heroes is fantastic – but by far the greatest blessing are the incredible people I’ve met along the way. So – welcome. I know we’ll become great friends.Sable Hunter is a New York Times, USA Today bestselling author of over 60 books. Most are standalones connected within one ‘world’, so you’ll find yourself running into familiar characters like old friends. She writes sexy contemporary and historical novels full of emotion and suspense. Sable is best known for her cowboy stories, but they’re more than that – you’ll also run into Cajuns, bikers, musicians, soldiers – a world as varied as your own. One thing all of her characters have in common is that they are relatable – flawed with mountains to climb. Nothing is more rewarding for her than receiving a letter from a reader sharing how the story resonated with them, giving moments of escape and a reason to hope.
Other than writing, Sable is passionate about all animals. She has been known to charm creatures from a one-ton bull to a family of skunks. Her writing space is crowded with four dogs – two dachshunds, Fergus and Abby, Maui, a Dutch Shepherd, and Koa, a beautiful Chow mix. When she isn’t howling with the pack, Sable haunts cemeteries and battlefields for fun. Armed with a night-vision camera and a digital recorders, she seeks proof that love survives beyond the grave.Welcome to her world of magic, alpha heroes, sexy cowboys and hot, steamy to-die-for sex. Step into the shoes of her heroines and visit places where right prevails, love conquers all, and holding out for a hero is not an impossible dream.
