Howdy

I’d like to give a big ole western howdy to the fillies at Cowboy Kisses and thank them for inviting me to join this group. As a history nerd, the American west is an infinite sources of wonderful stories whether its present day or historical.

Growing up, I was privileged to be a part of the heyday of the television westerns. I rode with The Virginian, visited Virginia City with the Cartwright’s, experienced the California with the Barkley’s and traveled the trails with Wagon Train. And, as always, my reading material needed to have a horse on the cover. Smokey the cow horse, Misty of Chincoteague, and The Black Stallion Series are but a few of the books that lined my shelves over the years.
Somewhere in my mother’s things is a picture of me, at the age of two, seated upon a pony with a huge French bonnet and a frilly dress. Needless to say, jeans and boots soon followed along with a horse of my own. Sussan was a half Arabian, half hackney pony that I owned for 28 years. She was my pride and joy. When my father purchased a second horse, we sort of figured that the neighbors wouldn’t take kindly to two four footed critters in a fifty foot back yard.  So off we moved to the wilds of western Tidewater, Virginia.
Today, our farm consists of two horses, a black Angus cow, two cats, four dogs, thirteen chickens, and a whole lot of fun. Some of my animals may turn up in my stories. But, mostly, they provide me with down time when work gets too much or I need to brainstorm a plot twist.<br>
I write contemporary and historical western romances. My contemporaries are written under my name, Nan O’Berry. My historical works are written under Tessa Berkley. I write for Prairie Rose Publications and The Wild Rose Press.

Fairy tales do exist—just ask Gillian Malone!

When rancher Logan Malone drags his feet on finding love, his five-year-old daughter, Gillian, persuades a local matchmaker to help her find a new mother.

Enter Delaney Holmes, a Washington socialite fleeing from the press after being left at the altar. Swearing off men, she takes the job as a nanny to a precocious five-year-old in a backwoods Texas town called Indigo Springs.

But Logan Malone is a six-foot cowboy hero complete with white hat and a swagger that puts John Wayne to shame. Can he put away the ghost of Gillian's mother to follow the rules of the Fairy Tale Code in order to win Delaney's heart? Or will Delaney's secret past keep him from proposing?

With true love at stake, there’s only one thing for sure—in this real life fairy tale, PRINCE CHARMING WORE SPURS—and it’s going to take some powerful magic to ensure a “happily ever after” ending!

Karleigh Jordan is an old flame in Jason Malone’s past that he’s never forgotten. When Marcus suffers a debilitating heart attack, Karleigh must try to fill his shoes and run the Flying J Ranch alone.

Karleigh discovers a huge debt that her father is having trouble paying, a crooked ranch foreman, and the overpowering fear for her father’s precarious health—and if that weren’t enough, there are cattle rustlers on the prowl.

Jason steps in to help Karleigh with whatever he can, and they discover their love is untainted by Marcus Jordan’s bitter accusations, even five years later. As their relationship flames to life from the burning embers of the past, Jason swears to help Karleigh hang on to the Flying J—even if it means taking a drastic step neither of them had planned or anticipated. This might be the beginning of the life they’d both hoped for—ONCE UPON A DREAM…
